Yilin Luo was born and raised in China. Luo attended middle school in China, and finished her high school in Charlemont, Massachusetts. She will receive degrees for Computer Science and Studio Arts from the University of Rochester in 2021. Luo’s artworks explore absurdism that are grounded in realistic depictions with paintings and installations.
During her undergraduate years, Luo has been involved in programs and activities that make art applicable and interactive in order to reach a more diverse audience. In summer 2020, Luo joined an internship program, Humanities for Life, as a web designer and marketing intern for Open Letter Books, where she learned about the art of marketing and the publication business. In the past Spring 2020, she also held art workshops at Huther Doyle Rehabilitation Center, during which she designed art activities with the goal of letting people discover their talents and find the healing power of creativity.
